Steele County Times Publisher Rick Bussler, left, accepted six national awards from National Newspaper Association President Chip Hutcheson Saturday morning in Franklin, Tenn. The Times was one of seven newspapers in Minnesota, and the only one in Southern Minnesota, to be recognized on the national level.
It was the strongest showing ever for the Steele County Times on the national level as the local newspaper captured six national journalistic awards of excellence last week in Tennessee.
The road into Medford’s Straight River park is closed due to obvious standing water. Many of the communities around the area were covered in inches, if not feet of rain or river water.
The Medford area was hit by a devastating surge of floodwaters this last week.
