Bob’s Smoke Stack Ribs closes its doors

The Byron community was in shock last week when they heard the news that the beloved Bob’s Smoke Stack Ribs would be closing its doors permanently.

The news came on Facebook, when the company announced that they would be closing the business effective Sunday.

The post explained that the decision wasn’t a easy one but due to ongoing health issues for the owner Bob Lewis it was one that needed to be made.

“It comes with a heavy heart to announce our restaurant will be closing for good after Saturday.  Unexpected medical issues within our family have caused us to make some big changes. We've been honored to serve all of you and we consider you all our extended family.  While this hurts, know that we can still make you the best BBQ in town. You can still call us for catering and sauce. All previous orders will be honored. Let's go out with a bang Friday night (no lunch) and all day Saturday and come eat and say goodbye.  Thank you for all your support, love and prayers,” the post stated.

While the restaurant will be closed, it was announced in a Facebook video that they will be continuing to catering and other things.

“We’re not done yet. We’re still going to be doing catering, we’re still going to be doing the food truck we just need to get it out yet.”
